About Us

TOGETHER is our favorite place to be. So together our family partnered with the awesome folks at Mississippi Marketplace to encourage all our visitors to                      BE INSPIRED in IOWA. We love all things, old and new. Our family is like a canoe – we do not get anywhere unless everyone paddles – I think you will find the entire family paddles at our booth! Come inside and browse. I believe that creativity is intelligence having fun which describes my daughter hands down. Be on the lookout for baskets dressed with a little greenery or flowering plants, gifts with handmade bows, picture frames with ephemera, hand-crafted and originally designed holiday décor, and combinations of things that spark your imagination. It cannot go without notice that sustaining this booth as a Family keeps us busy and together. Our process of stocking the booth starts with my daughter sourcing fortunes as if she’s on an adventure! She brings everything home where she reveals to us her finds, unpacks, spruces up, inventories, prices, re-boxes, delivers to our booth, and stages hundreds of Antique, Vintage, Unique, and Timeless trinkets and treasures. Researching these types of bounties has sparked quite an interest from her brother, and she been able to grow their relationship to such a wonderful extent that he too, now fosters new inspiration in our 5-foot x 10-foot space. My son is autistic. His ability to focus intensely on a particular subject, task or object has taught us to slow down and pay attention to the small things. He is often fully absorbed in the moment. Thanks to all my son’s experiences, his sister and I learned to embrace the beauty and value in all things – old and new. To explore our wonders and watch if’s. Watching him has helped us realize the true value of being fully present and inspired – in Iowa. 

Our family includes myself, the 65-year-old mom; my 34-year-old daughter; my 29-year-old son, and our 6-year-old furry four-legged companion who we fondly refer to as “Inspector Gadget” as he thoroughly sniffs every box filled with the love that we bring to our booths. We homestead simply and happily in rural Iowa. And we have laid down roots at the Mississippi Marketplace and Gathered Goods with the intention of inspiring you in this part of Iowa.
